The Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, Yaw Kwakwa has been relieved of his post by President Akufo-Addo. In a letter signed by the Transport Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, and copied to the Board Chairman of the Ghana Airport Company, the President directed the Board to terminate the appointment of the Managing Director.

It is, however, unclear what may have informed the decision of the President but if recent events are anything to go by there has been a public row between the chairman of Mcdan Aviation, Daniel McKorley and the MD over processes leading to the citing of a private jet terminal at the terminal one .

A letter signed by the Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, Yaw Kwakwa, and copied to the Minister of Transport, the  Board of the Airport Company, and the National Security Minister, the MD  alleged that Mr. Mckorley had breached several standards and norms of the aviation Industry a day to the launch. The MD cited for instance the refusal of Mr. Mckorley to produce a plan of Construction Operation Approval from the Airport Company before the commencement of construction of the private jet terminal. More to come….
