Parents of students in Senior High Schools across the country are apprehensive over rising cases of the new delta variant of covid-19 which is reported to have spread across several institutions.

There are reports of a third wave of the covid-19 which is causing panic and fear across the country. Many hospitals in Kumasi are said to be inundated with patients.

The Ghana Education Service has directed that no student be allowed to go home for midterms because of the worsening cases of covid virus. They are therefore to remain in school and observe the covid protocols

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly earlier disclosed that 10 out of 13 persons who contracted COVID-19 within the last two weeks in the municipality have died.

The Assembly has also recorded over 200 cases at different treatment centres between 1st to 13th July 2021.

It has thus entreated all persons within the area to as a matter of urgency adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols.
