Ghanaian Lawyer, Richard Dela Sky has filed a writ at the Supreme challenging the constitutionality of parliament’s actions in respect of the Budget. The journalist cum lawyer who was recently called to the English Bar is asking the apex court to set aside proceedings of November 26 and November 30 and declare them as unconstitutional.

The House on Tuesday made a u-turn to approve the government’s 2022 budget statement and economic policy after an initial rejection. The majority members of the House reversed the decision by the minority which rejected the budget statement last week Friday, November 17 after the minority members boycotted sitting.

In the absence of the Speaker of Parliament, First Deputy Speaker, Joe Osei Owusu described the actions of the Speaker, Alban Bagbin as an error that is against Article 104 (1) of the constitution.
