President Akufo Addo has criticized Martin Amidu for his refusal to investigate the Airbus bribery scandal allegedly involving the Presidential candidate of the NDC, John Mahama. According to the President “Even when you erroneously and without legal basis decided to confer immunity from investigation and prosecution on the Presidential Candidate of the NDC, John Mahama in connection with the infamous 5 million euro airbus bribery scandal by refusing to investigate him on clearly untenable grounds of being a candidate for President, neither the President nor any of the executive members challenged that strange exercise of discretion”.The President said

The former Special Prosecutor who resigned yesterday alleged interference in his work and particularly cited the investigations of the Agyapa deal as the last straw to have broken the camels back. In a nine-page letter signed by Executive Secretary, Nana Asante Bediatuo,the President denied interfering in the work of the special prosecutor.
